Summary

Adds a learn/concepts article on git push --force-with-lease, rewritten from research notes into the treq house voice.

Contents

  • Conditional force push vs unconditional --force
  • Syntax variants, including <refname>:<expect> for CI
  • Background-fetch lease failure mode
  • --force-if-includes mitigation and its no-op with an explicit expect hash
  • Index entry under Git and Version Control

Validation

  • python3 .claude/skills/writing/scripts/readability.py web/learn/concepts/git/force-with-lease.mdx --strict (pass; Flesch 53.8)
Open in Web Open in Cursor

Explain --force-with-lease as a conditional force push, cover syntax
variants, the background-fetch hole, and --force-if-includes.
