Research Scientist in AI & Simulation - Norwegian Defence Research Establishment (FFI)
I work where autonomy, robotics, dynamics, and control meet. Over two decades, I have moved between heavy industry and leading academic labs, building systems that make physical robots move, adapt, and reason - from underwater vehicles and maritime platforms to industrial manipulators.
My current research combines AI-driven planning, distributed autonomous agents, world models, and simulators.
- UROSA - Distributed agentic AI architecture for autonomous underwater reasoning and mission adaptation (BlueROV2, real-world trials)
- AURA - Anomaly detection and fault diagnostics for underwater vehicles using a digital-twin pipeline (Stonefish)
- Two US patents, industrial deployments from concept to offshore commissioning, supervision of PhD and MSc students from idea to publication and field validation
