pg-sprite embraces the Unix design philosophy — **do one thing, and do it
perfectly**: change the shape of live PostgreSQL tables while applications
keep reading and writing them. Anything that is not that one thing — data
backfills, catalog bootstrap, GitOps orchestration, access control — is
deliberately another tool's job: the engine refuses it with a typed verdict,
and [docs/capabilities.md](docs/capabilities.md) names the tool class that
owns each job.
