Superseded by #76 — a manual @vitejs/plugin-react v5 bump on top of React-19 main. This dependabot PR's lockfile conflicted perpetually against main's regenerated package-lock.json; the manual bump regenerates cleanly and passes jvchat build/lint/tests. |

Bump @vitejs/plugin-react 4 -> ^5 and regenerate package-lock.json on top of React 19 main. vite 5.0.8 satisfies plugin-react 5's peer (^4.2||^5||^6||^7). Verified: npm ci (in sync), build (tsc && vite build), lint (0 warnings), and vitest (55 passing) all green. Supersedes dependabot #67, which could not land — its lockfile perpetually conflicted against main's regenerated package-lock.json.
