RollSense

RollSense. A mobile app that learns how roads actually feel from a wheelchair.

♿ RollSense

Maps know where sidewalks go. RollSense learns what they actually feel like from your wheelchair.

RollSense is a mobile app that uses your smartphone's sensors to automatically measure ride quality — smooth, rough, or difficult — as you travel. No manual reporting. No ratings. Just ride, and the app builds a personal map of routes that actually work for you.

What It Does

  • Passive sensing: Accelerometer, gyroscope, and GPS do the work while you travel.
  • Personalized memory: Remembers how routes felt for your wheelchair and your body.
  • Route comparison: Finds smoother alternatives to your regular destinations.
  • Ride summaries: See your journey color-coded by quality — Smooth, Rough, Difficult.

Why It Matters

Two routes that look equally accessible on a map can feel completely different. RollSense measures what maps can't — the vibration, bumps, and physical effort of the road itself.

Your wheelchair becomes a road sensor.
