I lead engineering teams that build and ship enterprise AI systems — the kind that actually run in production, across cloud, on-prem, and edge.
I'm an Engineering Manager at Iterate.ai, where I lead a cross-functional team of 12 engineers building Generate, our flagship enterprise AI platform. We ship real deployments for real customers, partnering with IBM, Intel, AMD, and HP along the way.
- AI platform engineering — RAG systems, multi-agent orchestration (LangGraph), and document intelligence at production scale
- Deployment everywhere — multi-cloud (AWS, IBM Cloud), on-prem, and edge inference with model quantization (GGUF, INT8/FP16) on Intel/AMD/NVIDIA
- Event-driven architecture — microservices built on Kafka, FastAPI, Kubernetes, with observability through OpenTelemetry and Prometheus/Grafana
- Engineering leadership — hiring, mentorship, roadmap, and partnership engineering; I've scaled my team from 6 to 12 and promoted engineers into senior roles
Before management, I spent years as a researcher and ML engineer. I hold an MASc in Electrical & Computer Engineering from McMaster University, where my thesis focused on retrieval-focused fine-tuning for scientific documents, and a BSc (Hons.) in Computer Science & Engineering from the University of Moratuwa.
Along the way I've:
- 🧬 Pre-trained MedBERT, a biomedical language model with 50,000+ downloads on Hugging Face
- 📦 Released NERP, an open-source Python framework for transformer-based named entity recognition
- 📝 Co-invented 4 US patents in document extraction and multi-agent AI workflows
- 📚 Published research with 240+ citations across NLP, biomedical NER, and low-resource languages (Tamil, Sinhala)
My work has helped Generate win Pinnacle AI Product of the Year 2025 and land Iterate.ai on the CRN AI 100 as a top-20 hottest AI software company.
I'm always happy to talk about applied AI, RAG at scale, edge deployment, or building and leading engineering teams. Reach out anytime.
