Proposal
Add a before-you-build skill for pre-build product risk review.
What it does
The skill helps a founder, PM, or builder pause before implementation and ask: "Why might this fail before we build it?"
It reviews a product idea, MVP, landing page, or major feature request across demand, positioning, monetization, retention, trust, distribution, and feature-adoption risk. The output is intentionally short: verdict, biggest risk, evidence gaps, and the smallest validation step before building.
Why it fits this marketplace
The existing marketplace is strong on discovery, strategy, execution, launch, and growth. This skill fits between discovery and execution: it prevents a team from turning an unclear idea into a PRD, roadmap item, or implementation task too early.
It is especially useful when the user is excited to build but has not yet proven:
- who the product or feature is for
- when they would use it
- what painful problem it replaces
- how they solve it today
- whether the signal is strong enough to justify implementation
Example use cases
- A founder wants to build a new MVP and needs a direct risk review first.
- A PM receives a feature request and wants to know whether it reflects real demand or one-off feedback.
- A solo builder wants to publish a landing page and needs to check whether the target segment and pain are sharp enough.
- A team wants to add a feature to an existing product and needs to check if the request is tied to retention, revenue, or repeated user behavior.
Example output
Verdict: Narrow the scope first
Biggest risk:
- The audience is too broad, so the feature may solve a different problem for each group.
Evidence gap:
- No repeated evidence that users already spend money or time solving this.
- No clear trigger moment where the user would urgently need it.
Next validation step:
- Talk to 5 people who recently faced this exact problem and ask what they tried, what failed, and what they would pay to avoid.

Happy to adapt the structure to this repo's plugin layout if the concept fits.
