It's been a long time coming. Thank you @fabriziomoscon for continuing maintenance for so long after I wasn't using this myself anymore.

I have used LLMs to do some final bits of maintenance to close out some open issues (dependency, and Google Maps API related), and am releasing a API compatible (for Node 18+) update with these mitigations for anyone still using this. Though, my general suggestion (as noted in the README) is for everyone to migrate to https://github.com/googlemaps/google-maps-services-js
