PromptQL

Connect your GitHub repositories to PromptQL and query code, issues, and pull requests using natural language.

What You Can Do

πŸ” Ask questions in plain English -
"What PRs were merged last week?"
"Show open issues assigned to the backend team"
"Which repos have the most activity this month?"

πŸ“Š Cross-reference with other data - Combine GitHub with Slack, Linear, Salesforce, and 30+ integrations. Connect engineering activity to business outcomes.

How It Works

PromptQL uses two layers of authorization:

  1. App Installation (GitHub admin): Grants PromptQL access to selected repos/orgs
  2. User Connection (each user): Creates your personal access token via OAuth

Your token only accesses repos where you have permission and the app is installed.

Getting Started

Step 1: Connect Your Account

  1. Go to promptql.io, click "Try PromptQL", and complete signup
  2. Navigate to My Data β†’ Integrations β†’ GitHub β†’ Connect
  3. Authorize PromptQL. This grants access to public repos. Proceed to Step 2 for private repos.

Step 2: Install the GitHub App
Click "Install" above and choose which repositories to grant access to. Select your org or personal account, choose repos, and click "Install."

Example Queries

Once connected, try asking:

  • "Show me the most active contributors to [repo-name]"
  • "List all PRs that touch the authentication code"
  • "What issues are blocking the v2 release?"

Security & Privacy

πŸ”’ Zero-copy architecture - code stays in GitHub
πŸ”‘ OAuth 2.0 authentication
πŸ‘€ User-scoped access
πŸ›‘οΈ SOC 2 Type II certified
