Where are my Covers ?

Hello, I'd like to understand how covers are saved within Pinakes. From what i've seen, sometimes it's only a link to another site, sometimes the cover is downloaded to uploads/copertine. How is it decided ? Why is there two ways ?

By the way, it would interesting to have a "fetch cover online" when we are editing a book.

There's only one field for the cover (copertina_url), and it holds a URL that is either remote or local depending on where the cover came from:

• ISBN import / scraping stores the remote image URL as-is (a link). It's fast and uses no disk, but it depends on that remote host staying online.
• Uploading a cover file, or the "fetch covers" action (select books in the catalogue list and hit the button), downloads the image into /uploads/copertine/ and stores that local path in the same field — self-hosted and permanent, at the cost of some disk.

So it isn't two parallel systems, just one field pointing at whichever source produced the cover. Unifying it — always keeping a local copy — is on my list.

On your second point: a per-book fetch cover already exists via that "fetch covers" action on the catalogue list (it works on one or many selected books and hits /api/libri/{id}/fetch-cover). Wiring the same button into the book edit form is a fair ask — I'll look at adding it there.
