syncronization stuck on 99%

I tried to download a project several times using the QGIS plugin (version 2026.4.3) both on QGIS 3.44.11-Solothurn and in QGIS 4.0.3-Norrköping but it stucks on 99% and does not finish the download

in the qgis python console i got several errors saying that NoneType object has no attribute write
i think there's an error for each file

Hi @paolomartinis . Could you send diagnostic logs ?

Right click in QGIS browser on your Mergin Maps project and choose "Diagnostic log".

No I can't because the project is not downloaded...

I can send .mergin/client-log.txt but it seems everything ok:

also, in C:\Users\paolo\AppData\Local\Temp\python-api-client-xgjqh__d the files are there, but in the downloading dir I set I have only .mergin/client-log.txt and .mergin/.cache

Hi @paolomartinis . Really, it looks good in logs - just user cancelled downloading is there after few hours.. I see in logs, that 510 files is downloading but your logs are showing just few of them. Would you like to simulate this and send me whole traceback from qgis error window?

• do you have enough space in PC?
• is your internet connection stable?

no @MarcelGeo I truncated the log in the previous answer, the full log is this:
client-log.txt
it says all the 510 files in 511 chunks are downloaded

I have enough disk space
the internet connection is stable as an hotel wifi can be

but I think it's stupid to have all the files downloaded in the temporary directory (C:\Users\paolo\AppData\Local\Temp\python-api-client-xgjqh__d) for 1.12Gb and not transferred

I think a check is not ok so it stops all the procedure and stucks on 99%, without making the project available
and I can't figure out which check because of the "NoneType object has no attribute write" error on each file in the QGIS Python console (QGIS becomes unrensponsive so i can't track down the "true" error)

people will mainly use Mergin Maps out of office so according to me this is a problem that has to be addressed

maybe you can also provide a "selective" download also in the QGIS Plugin (making possible to avoid media download)

As I saw your previous stack trace, it looks like that this error is coming just from a logger - as logger is destroyed and than not exists.

We are downloading all files in 1. step to temp directory and then files are copied to live folder. Would you like to try it again? I can check some additional logs in server side.

Is there any big file which can take longer to download?
